History
WAUF-LP is a ministry of Auburn Christian Fellowship, a non-profit organization located at 315 South Gay Street, Auburn, Alabama. It is a 100-watt station having a coverage radius of approximately five miles. The station is located at 104.5 and 96.3 on the FM dial and broadcasts 24 hours per day. The station was granted a broadcast license by the FCC in October, 2005.
Mission Statement
The mission of WAUF-LP is to encourage teens and young adults in the Auburn-Opelika community to seek a personal, dynamic relationship with Jesus Christ through the influence of culturally relevant music. WAUF-LP provides a positive alternative to the current broadcasting media by airing positive music which addresses hard-hitting concerns young people face today.
Our purpose is twofold: (1) to provide encouragement to existing Christians, many of whom are away from home for the first time, and (2) to be used by the Holy Spirit as a tool to reach the unsaved.
Station Format
WAUF-LP's format is a type of contemporary Christian music style that targets teens college students, and young adults. Our format includes rock, alternative, folk/art, rap, hip-hop, and pop.
Our goal is to become the station of choice by providing a better alternative to secular programming. It is felt that both young and older listeners will also be blessed by the ministry of WAUF-LP. |
